Dealing with termites demands a knowledgeable, comprehensive approach designed to minimize damage, drive them out quickly and keep them from becoming a problem again in the future. At Chem-free, we do all this while using termite treatment methods proven to have a low-impact on people, pets and the environment.
Our termite management program includes:
Assessing The Problem
Before we can start dealing with your termite problem, we first need to determine the nature and extent of the damage. Our experienced inspector will examine your house’s exterior, interior and walls for signs of bubbling paint, discarded wings, droppings (frass), hollow wood, mud tubes, sagging floors, swarming termites and wood damage.
Crafting Your Treatment Plan
Determining the source and degree of the issue enables the inspector to craft a treatment plan tailored specifically to your property and needs. We believe in a two-pronged approach designed to both eliminate current termite colonies and deal with potential problem areas that may encourage infestations in the future.
After inspecting your home, the technician will provide a personalized treatment plan for your approval. The inspection and this plan are offered at absolutely no cost to you, and we will only schedule your first service once you have agreed to our recommendations.
How Our Low-Impact Treatment Works
Most termite infestations in Houston are due to subterranean termite colonies. Because of this, we focus our efforts on coming up with treatment options designed to get rid of subterranean termites in and near your home without harming the local ecosystem.
How do we do this? By using Altriset. This low-toxicity termiticide may be used for either spot treatments or in conjunction with a larger-scale management plan.
This solution paralyzes termites’ mouthparts, preventing them from feeding within a few hours and eventually killing off any existing colonies. Moreover, since Altriset will stay in the soil close to where it is applied for at least five years, you won’t have to worry about any new termites for a long time.
To provide you with the best possible barrier against termites, Chem-free technicians typically apply Altriset around your home by digging a trench six inches deep all around the property and adding the compound. For homes with concrete outside, we will drill small holes roughly 18 inches apart and add Altriset to them.
Follow-Up Monitoring
The unfortunate reality is that the vast majority of yards in Texas support termites.
Does this mean that you’re doomed to suffer another infestation in the future? Not necessarily.
Beyond removing current termite infestations and applying Altriset as a deterrent, Chem-free can also install sensors for you. These sensors will tell us when termite colonies start to get close to the perimeter of your home, and enable us to act quickly to avoid problems in the future.
Chem-free proudly serves Houston, as well as Cypress, Katy, Sugarland, Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands and Kingwood.
